Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) released a new report for 2011’s online advertising revenues. The report was prepared independently by PricewaterhouseCoopers. It appears that more companies are now aggressively using their ads dollars to pay for online advertising. While search engines are the dominant force, there are also more methods of ads delivery including via mobile platforms and digital video. Click here to download a full report (in .pdf format)
In term of quarterly comparison, Q4-2011 generated a total of $8.97 billion or an increase of 14.7% over Q3-2011 which was at $7.82 billion. In term of four quarters comparison, it was an increase of 20.4% over Q4-2010 which was at $7.45 billion.
In 2011, search engines taking about 46.5% of all online advertising revenues, or totaled $14.8 billion. Compared to 2010, search engines took about 44.8% of all online ads or totaled $11.6 billion. 2011’s online advertising revenues for search engines increased 27% over 2010.
In 2011, mobile advertising has the best overall growth and increased to $1.6 billion. Mobile ads contributed about 5% of all online advertising revenues in 2011, compared to 2010, mobile took about 2.5% of all online ads or totaled $641 million.
