Bing’s parent company gathered a bunch of developers in San Francisco this week and showed them Windows Store. This new store is different from Microsoft Store. Microsoft urged developers to start thinking to build useful and high-quality apps using the next version of Windows 8. In tech buzz, the new OS is known as Metro-style design. After building apps, Microsoft will help to distribute and sell apps thru Windows Store.
With some programing skills (i.e., HTML5 and JavaScript), the decision engine’s users can start making money thru Windows Store soon. Microsoft promises to give developers up to 80% revenue share for Metro-style apps.
In a blog post, Windows Store team called the new program Store as a service (SAAS). The old meaning of SAAS was “Software as a service” which was made popular by former Chief Software Architect Ray Ozzie.
