In order to make a meaningful web sites ranking for 2011 in America, Nielsen published lists of top 10 web brands, social media sites, videos, and smartphone devices. Google received the top honor as the most visited web brand in America in 2011. The world’s largest search engine has an average of 153.4 million unique visitors per month.
The world’s largest social network Facebook seized the second spot of the most visited web brand with 137.6 million unique visitors per month. Facebook is the number one among social networks and blogs, while Google’s Blogger is number two.
Bing captured the number four spot of the most visited web brand in America in 2011. The decision engine and its family of MSN and Windows Live have an average of 115.9 million unique visitors per month.
Bing’s partner Yahoo captured the number three spot. The Search Alliance combo of Bing and Yahoo has an average of 246 million unique visitors per month.
Bing’s parent Microsoft captured the number six spot with an average of 83.7 million unique visitors per month. Combination of Bing and its parent Microsoft have an average of 200 million unique visitors per month.
