A super rich parent with several billion dollars of cash can buy anything includes a decision engine brain. Microsoft bought Bing's brain from Powerset for a roughly $100 million exactly one year ago. The 65-person-company Powerset is still based in San Francisco, not in Microsoft’s Redmond (Washington) headquarter.
As reported by theregister.co.uk, Bing’s brain (Powerset) provides understanding of users’ intent, deciding the meaning of the words in searches. After a user conducted search queries, the engine index and decide exactly what the user is seeking.
