Just about two weeks before this year’s Christmas, comScore reported that the 2011 holiday season e-commerce spending has hit an all-time high record. From November 1 to December 9, 2011, holiday shoppers had spent about $24.6 billion in America, compared to one year ago which was at $21.4 billion, or an increase of 15%.
Two of the biggest shopping days for the year, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, also captured a significant sales growth over one year ago. Black Friday 2011 e-commerce hit a total of $816 million, compared to one year ago which was totaled $648 million, or an increase of 26%.
Cyber Monday online shopping have surpassed the billion dollar mark for the past two years in a row. The 2011’s total was $1.25 billion, compared to 2010’s total of $1.03, or an increase of 22%.
