While giant search engine Google has been kicked out of China early this year, search market share in the world most populous nation and world top Internet users is still controlled by local search engine Baidu. With its significant technology market, Bing parent Microsoft continues to outperform its competitors in term of selling software Operating System (OS) for PCs market, especially with the successful launch of Windows 7 OS in late last year.
Besides taking care of PCs market, Bing parent Microsoft is working hard to gain search market share in the Great Wall of China. In a latest interview with Simon Leung, Microsoft’s chief executive for China, wsj.com wrote that “[Bing] is more on the future in terms of mobile search.” Bing decision engine hopes to gain search market share via mobile gadgets and devices in the country. And, the soon to be released Windows Phone 7 will help Bing to gain another portion of search market share for going forward in China.
