Bing’s parent announced the availability of Office 2010 with a big party in New York on Wednesday. As for PC buyers, the new Office 2010 (Starter) will be pre-installed on most PCs around the world.
To save cost on new PCs, consumers could buy a PC with pre-installed Bing Bar in about one month. Bing’s parent will charge only $2 to PC makers if they pre-installed their products with Bing Bar, as reported by Microsoft insider Mary-Jo Foley.
For PCs without pre-installed Bing Bar, PC makers will have to pay $3 extra per license.
