As schools are on break, many Americans are taking the summer vacation which started a couple of weeks ago. In the same time, many have gone to local farms or took a trip to summer fruits picking season, and consuming many varieties of summer fruits including bing cherries. This would be a very helpful insight for Americans to learn the word "Bing" at a local farm and what “Bing” is doing in Internet space.
According to YouGov's BrandIndex as reported by businessinsider.com, only about 8% of American consumers had known of Bing’s brand on June 8. But, now, as of this Monday (June 23), 25% of American adults have heard of Bing. This is a very impressive data for the Bing team. While, after the launch of Bing, only about 52% to 57% recognize Google's brand.
YouGov's BrandIndex data is based on interviewing 5,000 people on a 5-business-days basis.
Bing ad campaigns (incl. pay-per-click, TV ads, and online video) started in the last week of May '09 by JWT ad agency which has a HQ in New York. The total amount has been estimated to be worth about $100 million.
